Edmonton folk fest & Canaday Day

Oh joy, there’s even more to report this week! There are two new upcoming live dates and I will start off with the one in Edmonton:

Sarah will kick-off the city’s folk festival with a special Wednesday night performance on August 5th.

Sarah’s performance is a special fundraiser for the festival endowment fund, which is administered by the Edmonton Community Foundation [...]
Tickets for the Wednesday night concert will be available to weekend pass-holders for $50 for adults and $25 for youth on Monday at the festival ticket office and Ticketmaster.
On June 8, tickets for the Wednesday concert will be available to the general public for $70 for adults and $35 for youth.

Sarah last played the festival in 1989, which would definitely make this the perfect occasion to perform the one of the other song from Touch again, wouldn’t it?

In other Sarah news, she will also headline the Canada Day evening show as well as the afternoon show on Parliament Hilll on July 1st.

“The Canada Day Noon Show [...] will be broadcast live on CBC Television, CBC Newsworld, on Radio-Canada Television, and RDI.
The Canada Day Evening Show is presented by the NCC [and] an hour-long special of the show will be broadcast on CBC Television and CBC Bold, at 9 p.m. EDT, and also on Radio-Canada Television and Radio-Canada’s Espace Musique, at 9:30 p.m. EDT and also. The entire show will be carried live on CBC Radio Two and CBC.ca.”

I hope you’re all having a nice weekend and maybe the news made it even better ;)

Sarah on the Tonight Show - VIDEO

Enjoy (thanks to Emma An for posting this on our message boards)

Take care and have a great night ;)

A couple of old Sarah clips

I don’t have a video of Sarah from yesterday’s Leno appearances (she played I Will Remember You solo on piano) but if you do, send it to me ;)

Miguel found some amazing new (old) clips on Youtube though, which are probably from the documentary Sarah did for World Vision in 1992:

Oh yeah, I know I’m late but I just started to try this twitter thing a week ago so feel free to follow me, I want to read some Sarah-related tweets too ;) viennaelsewhere@twitter

Reminder: Sarah on TV today!

Sarah will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno today, don’t miss it!

The goods keep coming! Terry blogs about Sarah!

This is from Terry McBride’s blog:

“At peace with Gravity”, a Sarah McLachlan lyric from a new song. Lilith Fair 2010 in both North America and Europe.

Well, I guess we’ll have to wait for the song to find out whether this has a deeper emotional meaning or if she’s talking about an anti-again regimen (just kidding…) :D

As for Lilith, we will most definitely find out more in the coming weeks if Terry keeps blogging/tweeting about it like he’s doing now.

Sarah on the Tonight Show

Sarah will be performing as one of Jay Leno’s final guest as host of the Tonight Show.

“Other guests that final week include Dwight Yoakum and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on May 26; Wanda Sykes and Sarah McLachlan, May 27; and Prince and Billy Crystal, May 28.”

She may only be performing but I’m sure the topic of Lilith ‘10 will come up ;)

Another Lilith confirmation

This is from a Canadian Press article.

A spokesman for Nettwerk Music Group tells the Canadian Press that the all-female concert tour would return next summer.

Nettwerk’s Rich Adams says co-founder Sarah McLachlan will be involved in the revived fest, but wouldn’t specify whether it would be in the capacity of performer or organizer.

Whatever that means. I guess we’ll have to wait a little longer then to find out exactly what Sarah’s plans for next summer are…

Confirmation from camp Sarah!

This is from Sarah’s official facebook page:

“We are happy to officially announce the long awaited return of Lilith Fair in the summer of 2010. Please stay tuned for more details on the festival and other Sarah news.”

Woohoo!!
